M5 crash victim whose car lay undiscovered for hours is named

A crash victim whose car lay undiscovered for hours in bushes next to the M5 has been named.

Officers were called to junction 10 southbound on August 8 after a lorry driver reported seeing a car in the undergrowth.

The man was travelling southbound from Bromsgrove at 10.40pm and it's estimated it was involved in a collision about half a mile south of junction 10, Cheltenham, between 11pm and 11.15pm.

The sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, reports Gloucestershire Live .

The man's identity has now been confirmed as Shaun Gorman, 32, from Kettering after an inquest which opened at Gloucester Coroner's Court .

Police said previously the car could have been unlit in undergrowth for around six hours after damage caused by the crash disconnected the battery and the electrics stopped working.

While investigators were at the scene, the M5 was shut for many hours, .
