The M5 reopened this afternoon after a serious crash involving a single car led to hours of delays in the morning.
Motorists were warned of heavy traffic following the collision at around 5.40am, which saw a car come off the carriageway in Gloucestershire.
Data from traffic monitoring site Inrix shows lane closures were in place on the northbound of the M5, between J14 (Thornbury) and J13 (Stroud).
Police and ambulance attended the scene and drivers were diverted to the A38 from Falfield to Whitminster.
National Highways confirmed the road has now reopened.
