M4 quiz: How well do you know its junctions, service stations and landmarks?

Thousands of us use the M4 on a daily basis, but how well do you really know the motorway that stretches from the Severn Bridges in the east to Carmarthenshire in the west?

Originally called the London-South Wales Motorway, the Ministry of Transport originally intended for the M4 to terminate at Tredegar Park in Newport.

But when the Welsh Office was created, the Government became committed to building a high-standard dual carriageway to Carmarthenshire.

Now, it is projected that the number of miles being driven by vehicles in Wales will increase by 38% to 3.17billion miles over the next 30 years.

The Welsh section was completed when the Briton Ferry motorway bridge opened.

It was then rerouted in 1996 when the Second Severn Crossing was officially opened for the first time.
