M4 crash: Man dies in Southmead Hospital after being hit by lorry in Wales

A man has died in hospital after being hit by a lorry on the M4 in Wales.

The 61-year-old man, from the Caldicot area of the country, had been taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol following the incident. near Newport on Tuesday morning (November 23).

He later died of his injuries.

A Gwent Police spokesman said: "His next of kin are aware and are receiving support from specialist officers."

A stretch of the M4 eastbound between junctions 24 for Coldra and junction 23a for the Magor Services was closed following the collision at around 6.50am on Tuesday.

At 1pm, two lanes remained closed and there were long delays in the area as investigation work continued.
