M4 crash: Man dies after suffering heart attack hours after accident

A man has died from a heart attack following a crash on the M4.

At 11.15am yesterday (September 30), a black Dacia Duster hit the central reservation and crossed from the eastbound carriageway into the westbound carriageway near Leigh Delamere services.

A man in his 70s from the Gloucester area sustained minor injuries and was taken to Southmead Hospital.

He returned home from the hospital later that day but suffered a cardiac arrest at home and died.

Wiltshire Police is now appealing for witnesses of the crash to come forward.

They added: "Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time. Inquiries are currently ongoing in relation to the collision."

They are also looking for anyone who may have dash cam footage of the crash.

The crash was one of several which happened on the motorway yesterday causing severe delays as two other multi-vehicle crashes took place.
