M4 closed and heavy traffic after car flips in crash with lorry

A smashed car was left on the central reservation of a motorway after being involved in a collision with a lorry.

Fire crews were called to J18 on the M4 eastbound, which was temporarily closed while the vehicles were recovered yesterday evening (May 12).

Avon and Somerset Constabulary, as well as the ambulance service, were also present at the scene.

Patchway fire station confirmed there were no serious injuries as a result of the collision.

A video shared on Twitter by the fire station shows the car involved being overturned by Highways England officers.

The car is first pulled onto its side and then in another movement, it is dragged so it is on four wheels once again.
