M2 helicopter landing posted by traffic police more used to speeding cars

Road traffic police have come across a less than usual vehicle during one of their patrols along the M2.

In a Facebook post they told how they spotted the helicopter whose pilot who decided to touch down in a field due to bad weather.

The light-hearted post said: “Is it a plane, is it a bird, or is it superman? No, it’s a very low flying helicopter encountered by Roads Policing offers from Steeple yesterday afternoon over the M2 near Antrim.

"Due to bad weather, the pilot thought it was too dangerous to continue his flight, so decided to land in a field beside the motorway. Thankfully, no one was injured in the landing and the pilot returned later when the weather cleared and continued his journey.”
