M2 driver caught speeding at 125mph near Antrim

A driver was caught by police doing 125mph on the M2 near Antrim.

The speeding motorist was spotted by officers on Friday (May 28).

Police also discovered he had no driving licence or insurance.

The driver will have a chance to explain his actions in court, according to police who highlighted his potentially dangerous behaviour.

Police warning to other drivers

NI Road Policing and Safety posted on Twitter about the incident at at 4pm on Saturday (May 29).

It said: "Yesterday (May 28) Road Policing officers from Steeple detected a driver on the M2 near Antrim travelling at 125mph.

"It was also established the driver had no driving licence or Insurance.

"This driver will have his chance to explain his actions in court."

The police account ended the tweet with the hashtag #keepingpeoplesafe.
