M1 to be closed for hours at Junctions 34 and 35 after spillage

Traffic on a busy junction has been brought to a standstill after reports of spillage.

All lanes between Junction 35 and 34 have stayed closed from early hours on Friday (November 19).

The traffic monitoring website Motorway Cameras released an update at around 8am warning motorists about the disruption.

It was expected that normal traffic would be resumed by 10am - however more delays were announced throughout the day.

The latest update is that normal traffic will resume between 5.45pm and 6pm.
