M&S wine delivery launches bringing cocktails, champagne and more to your door

High street giant Marks & Spencer has launched an online wine shop meaning customers can now get their favourite drinks delivered straight to their door.

Its launch comes during the country-wide lockdown due to coronavirus, in which the government has ordered all pubs, bars, restaurants and salons to close.

People are now only allowed out of their home for a handful of reasons including to do an essential shop.

This new delivery service will mean those who want a bottle of wine or an alcoholic drink will be able to stock up - as going to the supermarkets just for alcohol is banned due to it not being an essential item.

The only catch is that most bottles of wine and fizz are available in cases of six, so you can't buy a single bottle here and there, reports MEN.

Prices work out at around £10 of bottle with a case of six bottles of prosecco costing £60.

Delivery is free for orders over £100, and nominated day delivery is free for wine orders over £150.

However, shoppers should be aware that delivery may take longer than usual at the moment due to the coronavirus outbreak, as a note on the M&S website reads: "Please be aware, deliveries are taking a little longer than usual due to extra measures put in place to help keep colleagues and customers well."
