M&S unveil 'optimistic' collection modelled by Vicky McClure and Holly Willoughby

Marks & Spencer have taken womenswear in an 'optimistic' new direction for autumn with a collection focused on effortless every day style.

Capitalising on the success of their , this season they've enlisted the help of actress Vicky Mclure to add some extra spark to their new collection, which can be shopped in stores and online at marksandspencer.com .

Vicky McClure commented, "It has been such an exciting experience to be a part of the Marks & Spencer Autumn campaign. M&S is at the heart of so many women’s wardrobes and lives, including my own, so it has been a real privilege to be involved."

M&S have clearly seen that adding some star power to their image has been lucrative and are hoping Vicki will entice customers to shop.

Vicky was chosen alongside a cast of diverse women including model Ariish Wol and digital influencer Clemmie Hooper for what the brand describes as "an overall aesthetic that feels authentic and optimistic."

By aligning themselves with influential and inspirational people, M&S are emphasising they have their finger on the pulse and know what women want.

This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby commented, "Style should be about feeling amazing and for me, this is what this autumn campaign is all about; women looking good and feeling great!"

Nathan Ansell, director of marketing for M&S clothing and home, said, "For Autumn we wanted to move our womenswear collections in an optimistic new direction, celebrating what M&S really means to modern women today; inclusive and versatile, this campaign is about making the every-day extra special."

The campaign features some key shapes for the new season, like the oversized aviator jacket and printed midi dress; alongside hard-working basics like denim and layering separates to ease and simplify outfitting.

Prices start from just £4.50 for a pure cotton tee to £99 for a wool blend coat.

Warm colours like mahogany brown and tan are complemented by highlights of blue and ochre; for a versatile palette that can underpin the autumn season and evolve effortlessly into the next.

The new autumn collections will be available online at marksandspencer.com and in all UK stores from tomorrow, 5th September 2019.
