M&S shoppers torn over new mayonnaise with unusual ingredients

Marks and Spencer fans have been left divided over a new mayonnaise with two additional ingredients.

The retailer has amassed a legion of devoted fans on its social media accounts, where the retailer regularly keeps shoppers up to date on the latest products available in store. Additionally, many M&S products feature on the pages of dedicated food bloggers.

On Wednesday, M&S shared a new concoction on its Instagram feed, and it has left customers torn.

The post said: "As Brits, we all LOVE salt and vinegar on our chips, then dipping them in mayo... right?! (We'll let you debate that out in the comments). So we thought we'd go one step further and make things a little easier by combining all three – introducing our brand-new, WORLD-FIRST salt & vinegar mayo. Yep, you read that right. SALT & VINEGAR MAYONNAISE!"

The new condiment is described as a "creamy mayonnaise with malt vinegar and cider vinegar". People have rushed to the comments to have their say.

Becky said: "Need to try this mayo", while Leanne said: "This sounds amazing". Riah said: "Can't wait to try", and Sarah said: "This feels like an excuse for a chippy tbh".

However, others were less keen. Lauren said: "Nope, not a bit of me", while TJ said: "Genuinely the grimmest thing I can imagine", and Al said: "Please tell me this is a late April Fools because it's a no from me".
