M&S sets buying limit on Snowglobe gin as empty bottles being sold on eBay

As Glasgow retailers are preparing themselves for a busy weekend ahead when level four restrictions are eased, many shoppers are keen to get started on their Christmas shopping.

And there is one Marks and Spencer's product that is on everyone's Christmas list this year.

Marks and Spencer's new Christmas light-up snow globe gin is the drink that is lighting up everyone's Christmas this year.

The £18 70cl gin comes in Clementine and Rhubarb flavours, and both contain 23-carat edible gold leaf, which creates a sparkly snow globe effect when shaken.

The product has sold out out in so many stores that customers are now restricted on how many they are allowed to buy, reports My London.

Determined shoppers have "spent weeks" searching for it, with new stock flying off the shelves in record quick time.

People from abroad have even asked for the product to be shipped over and it is reportedly being flouted by online sellers for hiked up prices.

One customer is selling the M&S gin bottle on eBay for £60 – more than three times the original price – while some are even taking their chances on selling an empty bottle for £40 – more than double the original price.

Dozens of others are also selling the liqueur on Facebook marketplace for £45 or more, while many are excitedly sharing online when their local branch has some in stock

To cope with demand, M&S has now also unveiled a miniature bauble version.

According to one M&S Facebook group, it's near impossible to pick up in stores.

Andrew Laisby wrote on Twitter: “Hi @marksandspencer, trying to find snow globe gin, but despite calling into our nearest store regularly for the past three weeks, a 20-mile round trip, they never have any in stock, and I cannot buy it off your website. Any thoughts?”

One woman said: "Hubby trying to get one of these for weeks.

"Went this morning, they told him they had a delivery on Wednesday of 1,500....all gone."

"Again another failing I've been trying to buy it for over a month!" another added.

Meanwhile, one M&S shopper from abroad said: "Just 18 Pound?. Its possible zu shippping to Germany?"
