Marks and Spencer is urgently recalling a range of Medjool dates.
The store is pulling its Stuffed Medjool Date Selection due to the possibility that they may be contaminated with hepatitis A.
Packs involved in the recall weigh 350g each and have a best before date of July 13, 2021. The bar code number is 29058648.
M&S says this is a "precautionary measure" due to an issue with Medjool dates sourced from a location in Jordan, Surrey Live reports.
No other product has been potentially contaminated with hepatitis A, the supermarket confirmed.
M&S said: "Customer safety is of paramount importance to Marks & Spencer and we take all issues regarding the production of our foods extremely seriously.
"We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused."
If you have bought the Stuffed Medjool Date Selection, it is advised that you don't eat them and instead return them to the store for a full refund.
Symptoms caused by hepatitis A usually include fever, nausea, abdominal cramps, diarrhoea, dark-coloured urine and jaundice (a yellowing of the skin). Sainsbury's has previously recalled a similar product due to the same issue.
