M&S opens Christmas food order service amid UK shortages

Despite growing reports of possible food shortages this Christmas - from Brussels sprouts to wine and prosecco - Marks and Spencer has launched its Christmas Food Order service.

It has promised a bigger and better range than ever before with items including turkey, despite the reports of a shortage, and desserts.

Announcing the news on Instagram M&S said: "Ding dong: Christmas Food to Order is OPEN!... We've pulled out all the stops this year."

Currently, there are 83 food items to order including a Collection The Perfect Turkey Joint for £45, a Classic Vegetable Selection for £25, and a Collection Sticky Toffee Pudding Crown that serves 12 people for £20.

If you prefer your turkey stuffed you can pick up ones to feed anywhere between six people or a maximum of 14 people for between £32.40 and £64.80.

For a bigger party, a Collection Free-Range Pembrokeshire Bronze Turkey to feed 18 people will set you back £117.

There are vegan options available with the Plant Kitchen 6 Vegan Duck Croquettes for £4 and a Plant Kitchen Vegan Beef Wellington for £15.

Colin the Caterpillar, one of M&S's most popular characters, has got into the spirit for Christmas dressing as Elf Colin the Caterpillar for £10 or there is a Collection Night Before Christmas Smash Cake for £20.

You can order Collection 6 Chocolate Pine Cones for £14 and a Gluten-Free Chocolate Yule Log for £7.
