M&S launches its first ever burrata - and it’s under £3

With summer in full swing and our parks filled with socially-distanced picnics, M&S has unveiled a new must-have addition for your hamper: a ball of burrata.

Arguably one of the most indulgent cheeses, the supermarket’s first-ever burrata ball retails at just £2.75 for 150g.

Burrata is an extremely versatile cheese, and is ideal lathered on top of pizza, pasta or risotto or simply enjoyed with fresh tomatoes, basil leaves and a drizzle of olive oil.

Made from fresh Italian cow’s milk in the region of Puglia, the outer shell is made from solid mozzarella while the inside is a combination of stracciatella and cream.

Burrata isn’t the only new product launch for M&S this week, it’s also brought the 'limelon' to its stores.

The limelon is a limited-edition fruit that tastes like a melon but with a hint of lime - and retails for £3 per piece.

The store has also launched three new picnic accompaniments, including pickled red onions, pickled spiced cauliflower and carrot and ginger relish - retailing between £1 and £1.50 per jar.
