M&S launches £30 box with food essentials and treats including Percy Pigs

M&S has launched a £30 box of essential groceries for customers who are struggling to secure an online shopping spot.

It follows Morrison's launching a similar scheme offering essential food for elderly or vulnerable customers, reports the Mirror

The new M&S boxes include essentials such as toilet roll, tea, coffee, rice, pasta as well as tins of soup and baked beans. There are also a few luxuries in there like Percy Pigs, shortbread biscuits, salted peanuts and chocolate buttons.

You can see them here. You can choose between two different boxes - a vegetarian one priced at £30 and one containing meat and fish which is an extra £5.

Priority online is being given to those aged over 70 with a Sparks card so that M&S can identify their age.

All of the boxes are limited to one per customer. As well as the cost of the box, customers will also have to pay an additional £3.99 delivery fee.

Customers are warned that some of the items may change in the box for something of "equal quality and value" if the company experiences any difficulties or shortages.

The full list of items is:

  • Fusilli (500g)
  • Baked beans (220g)
  • Tomato and herb pasta sauce (550g)
  • Beef Bolognese pour over pasta sauce (340g)
  • Chunky vegetable soup (400g)
  • Basmati rice (500g)
  • Cream of tomato soup (400g)
  • Chunky steak (206g)

  • Milk chocolate (100g)
  • Prime corned beef (205g)
  • Wild Alaskan red salmon (213g)

  • Roasted and salted large peanuts (200g)
  • Giant milk chocolate buttons (150g)
  • Percy Pig™ (170g)

New delivery slots are being made available everyday, but when we checked it was sold out - so you'll need to be quick when they are released.

The news follows the launch of the Morrison's £30 delivery box featuring essentials such as pasta, rice, milk and canned goods like baked beans.

You can order a Morrison's box on the website.
