M&S launch LGBT Pride sandwich filled with lettuce, guacamole, bacon and tomato

Marks and Spencer has just announced that it's launched an LGBT Pride sandwich.

As well as coming in rainbow-coloured packaging - a statement palette for the movement - the high street retailer's new sandwich stays true to its acronym, being filled with lettuce, guacamole, bacon and tomato.

On top of the tasty new addition to shelves, the beloved British brand will also be donating £10,000 to Akt, a LGBTQ+ youth homelessness charity and €1000 to BeLongG, an Irish youth service.

Already available to buy in M&S stores across the UK and Ireland, there's no word on the price just yet, but we've contacted Marks and Spencer for confirmation and will update this page as soon as we hear back.

Originally announced on Facebook page TrendyTen, the post has since received a lot of comments from users - with divided opinions.

While some applauded the brand for continuing to campaign for LGBT+ rights, others remained sceptical.

One person wrote on Twitter “It's nice to see M&S fighting bi-erasure by making us the best bit of this sandwich,” while another said “Love this from @marksandspencer Respect! Live & let live...looks delicious too".

Despite the retailer's good intentions, other's stated “LGBT sandwich. These companies are really just taking any swing to seem ‘inclusive’”, while another Twitter critic commented: “Equating us to a sandwich? I can’t imagine them doing this with other marginalised groups.”
