M&S launch Colin the Caterpillar frappe - and shortbread one for Queen's Jubilee

When it comes to serving up a cake that everyone will enjoy, you'd be hard-pressed to find a more beloved cake than Colin the Caterpillar.

After more than 30 years of sparking chocolately joy at many a birthday party, Colin is now taking on the world in frappe form, as part of M&S's exciting new range of chilled summer beverages.

You can now grab yourself a Colin the Caterpillar frappe in any one of the 300+ M&S cafés across the country – whether you're eating in or taking away.

Finished with chocolate whipped cream, chocolate sauce drizzle, special Colin sprinkles, and - of course - an adorable Colin the Caterpillar face, this creation certainly makes for a very Instagrammable drink.

The first Colin the Caterpillar cake was baked way back in 1990, with the delicious dessert proving to be a hit at celebrations nationwide ever since.

Colin has since racked up a number of high-profile fans, including the likes of Dame Judi Dench, David Beckham, and Taylor Swift.

The frappe is being launched alongside M&S's new Minty Mango Smoothie (£3.25), a vegan mango and mint frozen smoothie, blitzed with a refreshing helping of ice and fresh mint.

In celebration of Her Majesty the Queen's upcoming Platinum Jubilee, M&S cafés up and down the country will also be serving a classic cream tea-inspired Scottish shortbread frappe.

Available up until July, this regal beverage comes complete with whipped cream, strawberry drizzle, and strawberry coulis, all finished off with a miniature all-butter Scottish shortbread

M&S product developer Claire Hodgson said: "With M&S quality foods and drinks served fresh to customers every day, you really can’t go wrong in the M&S café.

"This summer I wanted to introduce some sensational drinks for our customers to get excited for, and plaster all over their Instagrams because they are just so good!

"This includes my personal favourite, a strawberry and cream -afternoon tea inspired – Scottish shortbread frappe. It is unbelievably delicious and launching just in time for customers to enjoy in the run up to the Platinum Jubilee."
