M&S just released its most bizarre Easter Egg ever, and shoppers love it

Aside from coronavirus supplies, there's one thing everyone's been stocking up on - Easter Eggs.

There's plenty of options available, from Tesco's super cheap large eggs, to Aldi's sloth-shaped offering.

But M&S may have just trumped them all with its new savoury offering, as the brand has release a new egg that's not made from chocolate, but is instead crafted using SOLID CHEESE. YES HUNS.

A box of 6 cheesy Easter Eggs costs £8.50 (M&S)

The six wax-covered Mini Cheesy Eggs are made with Barber’s Farmhouse Cheddar and a vintage 18-month matured Red Leicester “yolk” and come in a cardboard egg box.

Not going to lie, they sound unreal.

Speaking about the launch, M&S Product Developer, Rosie Eiduks, said: "Delicious as it is, we know not everyone loves chocolate, and that people in North West are actually divided between Team Sweet and Team Savoury.

"Those with a more savoury-tooth can sometimes feel left out of the fun at Easter, so this year, we wanted to create a must-have gift for cheese lovers too!"

She added: "Not only are our Mini Cheesy Eggs a picture-perfect gift, they’re also completely delicious, with our quality Barber’s Farmhouse Cheddar and a vintage Red Leicester yolk.

"Beautiful served on an Easter lunch cheeseboard, sliced into a sandwich or salad, or loaded on top of crackers."

Shoppers are already reacting to the new cheese eggs, and they've proven a big hit.

Responding to them, one Facebook user said: "My daughter loves cheese and hates eggs not sure how she would deal with this!"

"Now that's my idea of a good Easter egg!" said somebody else.

A third added: "Love the innovation"

"Easter sorted," wrote another.

Somebody else gushed: "My kind of egg."

Talk about delicious.
