British retail giant Marks and Spencer has shared an important message with shoppers.
Following the lead of brands like Home Bargains, Aldi, ASDA and Next, M&S has decided to close all of its UK stores on Boxing Day to give staff a well-earned break.
Posting on Facebook, M&S wrote: "A little message from us...

"We’re giving our in-store colleagues, as well as our social media and customer service teams, a well-deserved break to spend time with their families this Christmas. They will be back, and our stores open again, on 27 December.
"Merry Christmas and stay safe. Love, M&S."
In a separate post, M&S confirmed all shops would be closed on Boxing Day, writing: "Our stores are closed today while our colleagues enjoy a well-deserved break. We’ll be open again tomorrow – enjoy your Boxing Day!"
Shoppers commented in their thousands, with many praising the decision to close on Boxing Day.
Vida Shields wrote: "Well Done M&S I take my hat off to you as your employees really do deserve to able to enjoy Christmas."
Viv Whelan wrote: "Amazing, so happy most shops and some hotels are adopting this policy. Value staff and they will value you. Well done M&S."

But while M&S has been praised by shoppers for closing on Boxing Day, Tesco has faced criticism.
