M&S has redesigned Colin the Caterpillar - and shoppers say he looks 'unrecognisable'

High street giant Marks and Spencer has given its iconic cake Colin the Caterpillar a brand new look.

After M&S started legal action against Aldi in an effort to protect its Colin cake - with a claim that its rival’s Cuthbert the Caterpillar product infringes its trademark - the two brands have been seen biting at one another on social media.

Now Marks and Sparks has released a brand new product, and it's a version of Colin we haven't seen before.

M&S has turned Colin into biscuits. And some shoppers aren't happy.

The biscuits were shared on the NewFoodsUK Facebook page, where a post read: "New Colin the Caterpillar Button Biscuits! Chocolate biscuits with a white chocolate filling! Not bad for £1 - you get 5 packs of 2."

The product quickly went viral, and shoppers had a lot to say.

"They don't even look like caterpillars!" slammed one person.

Another wrote: "Looks more like a worm than a caterpillar. Maybe should be changed from collin the caterpillar to walter the worm."

A third person joked: "Wait... that's #Cuthbert sliced into pieces!"

"Couldn't of picked a better time," laughed somebody else.
