M&S has launched a mac and cheese toastie and it's dividing hungry shoppers

Marks and Spencer's café has announced that it's now selling a mac and cheese toastie and opinion is divided over this new sandwich.

Created with sourdough bread that filled with pasta in M&S's "iconic" cheesy sauce that is made up of cheddar, pecorino, emmental and mozzarella cheese, the new toastie is a twist for the classic mac and cheese dish.

This new product has split shoppers with many eager to try it but others are put off by the potential carb overload.

A Facebook post from Marks and Spencer promoting the toastie has gained more than 8,000 comments from fans loving the new toastie - and those who will be steering clear.

One person commented: "I love mac and cheese but the thought of this makes me feel sick. Definitely won't be running or walking to get this!" with two sick face emojis.

Another added: "Couldn't think of anything worse, love mac and cheese but not in a sandwich" with a laughing face.

And: "Saw it today in the cafe and it looked vile, the concept" with a sick face.

However, there were some positive comments, including: "Now this is my idea of a perfect sandwich x" followed by a love heart faced.

And: "I had one today and can thoroughly recommend it!"

Another added: "OMG we had this yesterday it's divine."
