M&S extends Christmas refunds and introduces new way of paying so customers can avoid long queues

Marks and Spencer has extended its Christmas refund period in response to the latest UK Government coronavirus guidance.

In the updated refunds and returns section on the M&S website, the popular retailer states that purchases made between October 4, 2020 and December 27, 2020 can be returned up until January 31, 2021.

The website goes on to add that the extended returns policy applies to all UK stores and online orders.

For purchases made after December 27, the normal M&S refund policy will apply.

Marks and Spencer has also become the first retailer to launch an on-the-spot payment solution called Pay With Me, allowing customers to beat the queues in selected stores in the last couple of days before Christmas.

Their newest addition to help shoppers check out quickly uses the Pay With Me app which has been rolled out across 200 stores and allows an M&S colleague to pick out customers waiting in line to pay for just a few items.

Pay With Me is fully enabled for M&S’s loyalty scheme Sparks and can take contactless payments up to £45 and card payments with no limit.

Customers can also use Apple Pay to purchase their goods, which has recently been added as a payment option on their website.

The idea is that shoppers can reduce the amount of time spent in stores as well as skip the checkout queues.
