Marks & Spencer ditch Black Friday again for 2020 but shoppers can still get discounts

High street staple Marks and Spencer is not taking part in Black Friday 2020.

The chain has confirmed the move to Mirror.co.uk, stating: "We haven’t done any specific Black Friday deals for the last couple of years (in-store or online) and there are no current plans to change that – our focus is offering great value throughout the whole season."

But M&S fans will still be able to make the most of incredible savings on offer online at marksandspencer.com across fashion, home and more in the run up to Christmas.

M&S has already slashed 30% off selected women's and men's fashion items - perfect for revamping your wardrobe for the winter season ahead.

There's also half price savings on beauty items, including the Autograph 12 Days Of Beauty advent calendar and premium gift sets.

  3. Select a retailer and click the link to head to their website to shop as normal, making sure to spend £15 or more.

M&S joins a number of retailers who over the years have decided not to participate in one of the biggest shopping events of the year.

Supermarket chain Asda famously bowed out of Black Friday in 2015 after being one of the early adopters of the US tradition.

While Next has confirmed it will not host any Black Friday sales for 2020, unlike previous years. The news comes as Next reported a pre-tax loss of £16.5million due to lockdown and revealed it plans to close 13 shops this year.

In contrast some retailers have decided to stretch Black Friday savings across the whole month of November.

Amazon, Boots and Currys have all launched early Black Friday sales, in a bid to encourage shoppers to spread their purchases throughout the month.
