M&S announces exciting bank holiday offer for 'Little Shop' toy collectors

UK retailer Marks & Spencer has announced some exciting news for Little Shop collectors ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend.

Shoppers are usually able to redeem one Little Shop toy every time they spend £20 in M&S foodhalls, but for bank holiday, will be given two collectables instead.

Sharing news of the offer on Facebook, M&S wrote: "We’ve got BIG news for our M&S Little Shop keepers! This weekend, from Saturday-Bank Holiday Monday it’s double dip time! When you spend £20 in our Foodhalls, we’ll give you TWO collectables instead of one.

"Get all 25 minis and complete your collection before this offer ends. #MyLittleShop."

Fans were quick to react, with many keen to use the offer as an excuse to build their collections.

"My granddaughter loves these, just got her the apron ,she was so excited with it," said one shopper.

Another added: "The kids I look after are loving these. Some are collecting at home too. Great idea doing swaps in shop."

Some people also expressed their worries that the miniature toys may be made using single-use plastic.

Responding to this, M&S said: "If there are any leftover collectables after the campaign, we’ll recycle them through our plastic take-back scheme. We’ll give the collectables a completely new life and turn them into new playground equipment."

What is the M&S Little Shop collection?

M&S Little Shop is a range made up of 25 tiny toy versions of some of M&S' most popular food cupboard staples. Each time you spend £20 on food at M&S, you’ll be given a toy to add to your collection – though which one you get is completely down to pot luck.

Are M&S Little Shop toys worth money?

Most of the toys in the collection aren't worth much, but one piece is currently selling for up to £500 on Ebay.

Earlier this month the Percy Piggy Bank was sold on the bidding site for £490.

Only a thousand of the inch-tall golden Percy Piggy Banks have been created, making them the rarest (and consequently the most valuable) part of the collection.

The M&S Little Shop double dip runs from Friday August 23 to Monday August 26, and is available in foodhalls across the UK. Find your nearest store here.
