M.E.N. Face Mask Survey: Tell us what you think about the new rule change

Face masks will become compulsory in shops and supermarkets in England from Friday.

It will be mandatory to cover your mouth and nose while out shopping - and you could get fined if you don't comply.

This will also remain the case on public transport with that rule being enforced back in June.

As coronavirus can spread predominantly by droplets from coughs, sneezes and speaking, with the droplets then being able to be picked up from surfaces, a mask or covering is designed to help protect others.

And when used correctly, it may reduce the spread of Covid-19 in certain circumstances.

Whether this is a reusable or single-use face covering, or a scarf, bandana, religious garment or hand-made cloth covering, they must securely fit round the side of the face.

If you don't, the maximum fine will be £100 - reduced by half to £50 if paid within 14 days.

But we would like to know what you think about the new changes. Have you been wearing a mask already? Do you think the changes are the right thing to do?

Let us know in the survey below. If it fails to load click here.
