M.E.N Back to School Survey: Tell us what you think about schools opening in September

The government has taken a firm stance on schools reopening in September despite the ongoing pandemic.

Only this week Education Minister Nick Gibb stressed that schools in Greater Manchester will be opening up despite the new coronavirus restrictions in force across the region.

His comments came as England's Children's Commissioner Anne Longfield said that schools ' must be prioritised over pubs in future lockdowns'.

Setting out the actions needed to ensure children are 'at the heart' of future plans, she claimed children were an 'afterthought' during the first lockdown.

She believes that rapid testing of pupils and teachers will ensure that anyone infected and their close contacts could isolate immediately without having to send entire classes or year groups home.

But what do parents in Manchester think?

Are you comfortable about schools opening in September? Do you feel your child will be safe in the proposed bubbles? Do you need school to reopen so that you can work?

And what about face masks? The government says it is being 'led by the science' in not requiring pupils to wear them in class. What do you think?
