M&D’s Outbreak brings Gateway to Hell scarefest to Strathclyde Park

The ultimate Halloween scarefest has returned to Strathclyde Park.

M&D’s Outbreak is back with its new spine-chilling theme, Gateway to Hell.

And with danger lurking around every corner, chaos will ensue as visitors run for their lives - well, that’s certainly what happened when I popped along for a sneak preview.

I was full of bravado before stepping into the unknown, but that didn’t last long.

Without giving too much away, Gateway to Hell is definitely not for the faint-hearted.

Actors set the story before thrill-seekers enter at their own risk, and believe me you won’t know where, or even if, you want to look. Satan, zombies and the twins from cult horror film The Shining are among those appearing from the darkness.

The loud thuds, screaming, creepy setting and the fear of the unknown certainly sent my pulse into overdrive from start to finish.

Matthew Taylor, managing director of M&D’s, said: “We are confident that Gateway To Hell is set to be the most frightening and innovative yet in the Outbreak series.”

Also returning is the bone-chilling Darktober, which will allow polter-guests and scream queens the chance to goon even more of the park’s rides in the dark between 6pm and 10pm as part of the Gateway To Hell experience.

Matthew Taylor, managing director of M&D’s, said: “For the past five years Outbreak at M&D’s has delivered a horrifically thrilling interactive horror experience which has evolved each year.

“We are confident that Gateway To Hell is set to be the most frightening and innovative yet in the Outbreak series, and we are extremely proud of the experience we have produced for our customers this year.

“We would like to invite anyone daring enough to find out just what they are afraid of at Gateway To Hell this October.”

Gateway To Hell runs every Thursday to Sunday evening until Saturday, November 2.

Ticket prices start from £10.50. Add Darktober to the Gateway to Hell package from £9pp or purchase Darktober on its own for £11.50pp.

Youngsters under the age of 15 can be admitted when accompanied by a responsible adult.

Last entry is 30 minutes before closing time.
