Lyra McKee murder police arrest 46-year-old man

Police investigating the death of Lyra McKee have carried out a number of searches and made an arrest.

The 29-year-old died after being shot while observing a riot in Derry on April 18.

On Thursday, the PSNI carried out searches in Northland Road and Creggan in Derry and arrested a 46-year-old man.

He has been taken to Musgrave Serious Crime suite for questioning.

Detective Superintendent Jason Murphy said: "Since Lyra was murdered following violent disorder in Creggan in Derry/Londonderry on 18th April, our investigation has received widespread support from the community.

"I still want to hear from anyone who has any information and would appeal to the public to contact my team of detectives on 101.
