Laurent Koscielny's future at Arsenal is in doubt.
A signing from Lorient in the summer of 2010, the Frenchman has been a key player for the north London outfit ever since and was part of the side which ended the club's long trophy drought with the FA Cup win in 2014.
With a year left on his contract at the Emirates Stadium, it was assumed that Koscielny would bid farewell to supporters following the conclusion of the 2019/2020 campaign.
However, events this morning (Thursday) suggest his exit could be fast-tracked.
The big news is that Koscielny has stunned the club by refusing to go on tour to the United States and the captain is set to face disciplinary action.
A statement reads: "Laurent Koscielny has refused to travel to the US for our pre-season tour. We are very disappointed by Laurent’s actions, which are against our clear instructions.
"We hope to resolve this matter and will not be providing any further comment at this time."
The reason behind the 33-year-old's stance in quite simple.
football.london understands that the Frenchman not only wants to go back to his homeland, but has also asked Arsenal to release him from the final year of his contract.

In addition, the Evening Standard claim that Koscielny is willing to buy out the final year of his contract in order to force a move back to France amid links to Rennes, Lyon and Bordeaux.
reports in France claim Rennes are the front-runners for his signature, but the defender's future was discussed at a Lyon press conference on Thursday afternoon.
Although, Juninho Pernambucano, Lyon's newly appointed director of football wasn't giving too much away when asked about a potential move for the Arsenal defender.
"He's a player I like very much, who goes very fast," the Brazilian said, as per L'Equipe . "So far, we have not talked about it.
"But as I said, the market is still open and you have to be careful."
