Lyon's £5.9m transfer bid which could be fantastic news for Chelsea and Frank Lampard

Lyon could be one of the more active teams in the January transfer window.

And that could be beneficial for Chelsea and Frank Lampard.

According to recent reports, all signs are pointing towards the Ligue 1 giants bolstering their already stacked attacking options even further before deadline day in a couple of weeks.

Premier League transfer round-up: Bruno Fernandes talks

L'Équipe claim that Lyon made an €7m (£5.9m) offer for Le Havre attacker Tino Kadewere.

Which has been rejected.

Although, the report also states that bid was only an opening offer.

Given that Kadewere is a centre-forward, it remains to be seen if Lyon return with an improved offer before the winter transfer window closes or wait until the summer.

If it's the former then it could boost the Blues' transfer plans as they've been heavily linked with a move for former Fulham centre-forward Moussa Dembele.

Have Lyon lined up a replacement which would allow the Frenchman to join the west London outfit?

However, it should be noted that Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas has recently told RMC that he has no plans to cash in on Dembele this month.

"We have not changed our minds," he said. "We already made this issue clear in August. Moussa is an excellent player. A player who we need. We are taking explicit measures in our recruitment to not bring someone in who will compete for his position.

"It is not a question of money. Moussa will be with us."
