Jose Mourinho will not be Lyon's next manager.
Following Lyon's defeat against Saint-Etienne last week, ex-Arsenal and Barcelona left-back paid the ultimate price as he was sacked and the Ligue 1 giants were immediately linked with Mourinho.
However, according to RMC ,Mourinho had turned down an approach from the French side.
Furthermore, the report claimed that the Portuguese boss made it clear that his desire is to secure a move back to the English Premier League, with his family currently settled in London.
As a result, he's rebuffed their advances.
And that's because he's about to take a new job elsewhere, Jean-Michel Aulas has said during a telephone press conference on Thursday morning.
This has all been confirmed by Aulas.
As revealed by Get French Football News, the Lyon chief has also made a huge claim about Mourinho's future.
With Mourinho 'set to take a job elsewhere' links to Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United will heighten.
Mauricio Pochettino's future at Spurs has been called into question after matters off the field have impacted performances on it, leading some to speculate that his days could be numbered.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils are underperforming at present, with suggestions that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be another manager to face the chop if results and performances don't improve.
Mourinho revealed last month that he is ready for a return to management - but on one condition.
"The only thing I know is what I don't want," Mourinho told the Coaches' Voice . "What I don't want is crystal clear.
"What I want - the general profile of it of course - but I cannot say clubs and country. I am quite pathological in this sense that I have to play to win.
"Then if I win or don't win it's my problem, the players, the club and the structure. But I need a project where the feeling is that I play to win.
"If someone gives me a wonderful, incredible, amazing 10-year contract and the objective of the team is to stay in the first part of the table, If you finish seventh or eighth or ninth is perfect that's not for me. That's my nature.
"Of course sometimes I remember what won before, but it's not me.
"My next [job] is to fight to win."
