BBC are showing the snooker now, which might be a sign that I should leave. Thanks for joining me. It should be a cracking second leg next week!

The missed penalty could be crucial once the 180 minutes concludes next week at Kingsmeadow. Kirby will be frustrated as it was a terrible effort from 12 yards, even if the goalkeeper was a yard off her line by the time the Chelsea player struck it.

Full-time: Lyon 2-1 Chelsea

What a fantastic game in France. Lyon looked like they might run away with it early on and went two goals ahead without Chelsea having a kick. The Blues fought back superbly and in the second-half especially they matched the French side kick for kick. Chelsea will be left to rue a missed penalty and conceding two, relatively, soft goals.

Lyon 2-0 Chelsea

71 min: Fishlock goes down following a challenge from Bachmann. A pretty poor challenge from the Chelsea player. She was very late and it was all a touch needless. A sign of the frustration felt by the visitors? The resulting free-kick from 30 yards is hit straight at Berger by Marozsan.

How can Chelsea get back into this? It’s going to be tricky for them that’s for sure but they showed they can worry the Lyon backline but it’s going to take a monumental effort to come out of this with a positive result.

Half-time: Lyon 2-0 Chelsea

Lyon have dominated but they have been gifted two goals here today through an own goal and Chelsea giving away a silly corner. They certainly will come to regret missing that penalty in the closing stages of the half. It could have been a turning point.

Penalty saved! Lyon 2-0 Chelsea

Kirby steps up but after a little shuffle she takes a very poor penalty and the ‘keeper easily stops it. Some might complain that Bouhaddi was off her line but it was just a bad penalty.

GOAL! Lyon 2-0 Chelsea (Marozsan , 39)

Did anyone get a touch on the corner? It’s hard to tell. Marozsan whips it in from the left and it defeats everyone and ends up in the far corner. It should not have got to this stage as the corner came from a defensive header going straight out of play when trying to get the ball to the goalkeeper. Frustrating for Chelsea.

10 min: Berger is almost caught out by Bacha from the left wing. The goalkeeper takes a step out of her goal and has to step back to prevent the cross from going in at the near post.

Kick-off: Lyon v Chelsea

Peep! Peep! Let’s get ready to rumble!

The players are out on the pitch. It looks nice and clear in Lyon.

Talking tactics ...

Chelsea will be looking into stay in the tie today. The second leg is next Sunday, so they will be hoping they will spend the next week with some degree as hope as many don’t offer them much.

Ada Hegerberg leads the line for Lyon tonight, Suzy Wrack spoke to her in December ...

Our reporter at the game, Suzy Wrack, is having fun:

Chelsea have only lost twice themselves in the league but six draws have held them back and they are far less prolific than Lyon, scoring a mere 35 in 18 matches.

Chelsea do not seem worried ...

Lyon are yet to lose in their domestic league this season but are still only three points ahead of PSG, who have lost just once. They’ve scored 82 goals and conceded just six times in 20 matches, so they are used to utterly dominating each time they play.

Lucy Bronze has a big few months ahead of her. Suzy Wrack spoke to her this week.

Emma Hayes points out how hard it is going to be for Chelsea today ...

Chelsea are at the ground, which is convenient ...

Team news: Lyon v Chelsea

Lyon: Bouhaddi, Bronze, Mbock, Renard, Bacha, Henry, Fishlock, Cascarino, Marozsan, Le Sommer, Hegerberg

Chelsea: Chelsea: Berger, Bright, Ingle, Carney, Ji, Kirby, Eriksson, Mjedle, Andersson, Cuthbert, Bachmann

Preamble

It doesn’t get much bigger than this! Chelsea are in France to play the continent’s best team. Even Chelsea manager Emma Hayes accepts their opponents are the finest side around, so know how tough the task ahead of them will be.

It’s not been a classic season domestically for Chelsea. They sit third but are not challenging for the title which will disappoint the team and management. They’ve shown glimpses of what they are capable of but never consistently. In order to get a result in France today they will need to be at their very best but even that might not be good enough against a side who have won the last three Champions League titles.

Lyon will include England star Lucy Bronze who will be looking to show what she can do on the biggest stage once again prior to a big summer with England at the World Cup.

It should be an exciting encounter but Chelsea might need plenty of luck to stay in this tie.
