Lyon 'already rejected a bid' from Man City for Tanguy Ndombele and more transfer gossip

Man City have already had a bid for midfielder Tanguy Ndombele 'rejected' by Lyon, according to reports.

City retained their Premier League crown - becoming the first team to do so since Manchester United a decade ago - on Sunday after a relentless title race with Liverpool that saw the Blues edge it by a single a point.

After already winning the Carabao Cup, City could also become the first team to ever win a domestic treble in England should they lift the FA Cup on Saturday, which would cap off a truly remarkable season.

Yet City did once again fall short in the Champions League, being eliminated in heart breaking fashion by Tottenham in the quarter-finals.

So as a result Pep Guardiola is expected to strengthen his squad even further this summer and midfield appears to be an area of interest due to the ageing of Fernandinho and David Silva, the injuries of Kevin De Bruyne and the uncertainty surrounding Ilkay Gundogan's future.

City have been linked with plenty of midfielders already, with the likes of Sporting's Bruno Fernandes, West Ham's Declan Rice and Atletico Madrid's Rodri all being linked.

Another name that has been repeatedly touted is Lyon's Ndombele, who played brilliantly against City when they met in Europe earlier in the season.

French publication Le 10 Sport report that the 22-year-old is 'expected to leave in the summer transfer window' and that the fee he fetches could 'beat the current record of Alexandre Lazazette,' who cost Arsenal £47m.

It's claimed that PSG, Inter and Juventus are all 'interested' but the club 'has already rejected a bid of 50 million Euros [£43m] from Manchester City'.

Lyon extended the Frenchman's contract last September to 2023, so they're in no obligation to sell their star midfielder.

Meanwhile, City are 'plotting a move to sign' young Cardiff City defender Cameron Coxe.

The 20-year-old has made just one appearance for the Blue Birds, making his debut in a League Cup defeat to Burton Albion in 2017.

Coxe was also on the bench once this season when Cardiff crashed out of the FA Cup 1-0 to Gillingham in the 3rd round.

According to Football Insider 247, City 'scouts have been closely monitoring Coxe's progress for some time' and see the attacking right back as a 'potential star'.

Coxe will train with the Wales senior team later this month.
