Lynne Size from West Calder sings to over a million people from her garden

A West Lothian singer has been helping to lift the spirits of over a million people worldwide thanks to her amazing performance - from the back garden of her house.

Lynne Size says she can’t believe a video of her entertaining neighbours in her garden by belting out Snow Patrol has attracted over 1.5 million views on Facebook.

Lynne, from West Calder, has been singing for 30 years - but never once dreamed she would be performing to such a massive crowd.

But she has become an overnight sensation after a neighbour filmed her singing the Snow Patrol hit ‘Run’ in her back garden which has now gone viral.

Lynne (47) has enjoyed an impressive career performing in clubs and pubs around the country as well as at the Marie Curie event Livi Aid Live, which she helps to organise.

But she said he has been “overwhelmed” by the reaction to her video and the outpouring of love and support from people who have watched it.

Her video was posted just days ago and has already attracted over 1.5 million views with people saying she is spreading some much-needed cheer during these uncertain times.

Lynne explained she’d had some bookings cancelled as venues closed, so decided to put on an outdoor show for her friends and neighbours using a PA in her garden.

She told the Courier: “It’s madness and very surreal actually.

“But if I’ve managed to cheer someone up through all this then I’m happy, job done.

Lynne said she has had over 2.5 thousand messages of support from fans in Europe and as far away as Australia and America and even more from people in Canada.

“It’s been so nice getting the messages,” she said. “Some are really emotional. About 99 per cent are lovely but I have had some weird ones too.”

And she said she is looking forward to serenading her followers again on Friday night at 5pm from her garden (weather permitting).
