Cardiff City are hot on the trail of Livingston striker Lyndon Dykes.
The Australian ace has already been linked with moves to Rangers, Derby County, Middlesbrough and Blackburn this summer.
But MailSport understands the Bluebirds have shown the most interest – having watched Dykes on several occasions last term.
The 24-year-old is valued at around £1million after scoring 12 Premiership goals as he impressed for Livi before the enforced coronavirus lockdown.
He’s a reported target for Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard – but so far there has been no contact from Rangers.
If Gers are keen, they’ll face a fight with Cardiff who believe the big striker could be ideally suited to the English Championship.
Dykes' parents are from Dumfries and he played for the Queen of the South youth team in 2014-15 before returning to his native Australia.
The striker returned on a permanent deal in 2016 before signing for Livi in January 2019.
After being loaned back to the Doonhamers for the remainder of the campaign he had a huge impact in the Premiership.
Dykes scored 12 goals in 33 games across all competitions before the 2019-20 season was curtailed, and won praise for his performance in October's win over Celtic.
