Lyndon Dykes to QPR transfer latest as Mark Warburton makes Scotland prediction

Mark Warburton confirms Queens Park Rangers are on the verge of completing a deal for Lyndon Dykes.

It emerged on Sunday that Livingston had accepted a club record fee for the striker, believed to be around £2million.

Dykes headed to London on Monday for a medical and Warburton believes he's getting a player who will soon be leading the line for Scotland.

The striker was born in Australia, but is eligible for Scotland as both his parents are from Dumfries.

QPR boss Warburton told Sky Sports : "There was a lot of competition for him but we're very near to completion now.

"A lot of work's been done by guy's at the club, Les (Ferdinand, sporting director) and everyone.

"We're very near completing that deal now and he's a player that I think can go on to become an international player for Scotland and be their number 9.

"I think he's got huge potential, he didn't benefit from the academy education so he's hungry to learn.

"Good physical presence, willing worker, lots of ability.

"So I'm really looking forward to - hopefully, if it all goes through - working with him."

Dykes has hit two goals in three Premiership games so far this season, but it appears he has played his final match for Livingston.
