Lyndon Dykes stings Celtic's Christopher Jullien as striker reckons he left £7m stopper 'timid and nervous'

Livingston striker Lyndon Dykes has expressed his delight after he was able to get the better of the battle between himself and Celtic stopper Christopher Jullien.

The two duelled head to head at the Tony Macaroni Arena on Wednesday evening, and even though the spoils were shared in a 2-2 draw, there was no denying Dykes won his individual battle.

The big Frenchman has been impressive since his move from Tolouse, but he was given a run for his money by Dykes in Livingston's 2-0 win back in October, and it was the same again when the two sides faced off during the week.

The physicality of the target man seemed to unsettle Jullien as he suffered from a rare off-night, later praising the striker's performance.

And Dykes was impressed with himself in the Premiership clash, saying: “I just go out like it’s another person and do my best.

“I think that’s twice now I’ve ruffled him about a bit and he hasn’t liked it, so that’s pleasing.

“But he’s a great player and he shows that week in and week out.

“Maybe he was a bit timid and a few times I got in behind him and he was a bit nervous.

“It’s a big compliment to me because he’s a £7 million defender saying something like that about me. He’s a great player.

“I just went out to do my best and show him he wasn’t going to get an easy time of it.”
