Lyndon Dykes makes decision over international future as Livingston striker reveals dream scenario

In-demand Lyndon Dykes would prefer to represent Australia over Scotland if he's given the call for international duty.

The Livingston forward has shone this term and has been linked with transfers to Middlesbrough, Cardiff City, Swansea City, Blackburn Rovers, Derby County and Bristol City in January.

Dykes is eligible to play for both Scotland and Australia and has been heavily tipped for a call-up for the Socceroos.

And he's made it clear he would rather play for the country of his birth.

He said: "If the timing's right, then it will happen.

"Obviously I can play for Scotland as well, but if both of them were on the table, I'd love to play for Australia.

"I think I could do a job for them. Hopefully I'm scoring a couple of goals so people know my name."

And Dykes, who has scored five goals in 14 appearances for Gary Holt 's side this season, admitted he is still relishing scoring against Celtic last month in a 2-0 win.

He said: "Still even now, it's kind of crazy to realise how big that was.

"When it hit the back of the net...it just went blank. I didn't know what to do. I was buzzing. It's something I'll always remember."
