Lyle Taylor's new reality as Rangers linked forward gets creative ahead of life-changing transfer

Determined Lyle Taylor is making sure he is in peak condition ahead of his Charlton exit.

The 30-year-old's deal with the Addicks expires at the end of the month and he raised eyebrows after deciding against playing his side's three games before his contract is up.

Taylor is a wanted man with Rangers strongly linked with a move and Galatasaray readying a money-spinning bid to take him to Turkey.

And the former Partick Thistle and Falkirk man has been captured putting in the hard yards as he trains with grime artist Don Strapzy's side SE Dons.

They uploaded a video of the Montserrat international curling an effort into the top corner as he keeps himself ticking over ahead of his life-changing transfer.

Taylor appealed to Charlton supporters for forgiveness as he explained his serious knee injury meant he couldn't take a chance on missing out on a career payday this summer.

Record Sport pundit Chris Sutton was less than impressed with the ex AFC Wimbledon star's stance but Robbie Savage reckons he is making the right call.

Speaking to BT Sport, Savage said: "I’d do exactly the same thing in Lyle Taylor’s situation.

“He’s got a potential dream move and earn four or five times as much for his family.

“He’s been around the lower leagues and helped Charlton get into the Championship.

“They’re really struggling at the minute and he’s probably one of their best players.

“I agreed with his decision not to play in these games because the difference is, as a Premier League player, you’re going to be earning thousands of pounds every week.

“The average is £70,000 a week.

“For Lyle Taylor, he might be on £500 or £600 a week and will be going to life-changing sums of money.”
