Lyle Taylor 'eyed by Rangers' as Championship sides circle around Charlton striker

Rangers are reportedly among a clutch of sides eyeing up Charlton's Lyle Taylor.

The striker's contract expires at the end of the season and he's free to speak to other clubs come January.

West Brom , Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea City are also "keeping an eye" on the 29-year-old, according to Sky Sports.

Taylor spent a year in Scottish football with Falkirk in 2012, joining the club a month before the departure of Ross Wilson, now Rangers ' director of football.

The frontman has also spent two separate spells on-loan at Partick Thistle, once while with Sheffield United and the second during a short-lived Scunthorpe United stint.

He went on to play for AFC Wimbledon before joining Charlton in 2018.

Taylor has scored 30 goals in 50 games under boss Lee Bowyer, who was fiercely critical of Joe Aribo 's decision to swap the Addicks for Ibrox in the summer.

Taylor hailed his former team-mate on Twitter in October after scored his first Nigeria goal against Brazil.

He wrote: "The boy's gone from scoring goals in League 1, to scoring against Brazil... Just think about this for a seocond... WHAT. A. PLAYER."

It's been claimed elsewhere that Sheffield United are also interested in bringing him back to Bramall Lane.

Born in London, Taylor has represented Montserrat at international level, scoring once.
