Lyle Taylor bid urged for Rangers as former Ibrox star Charlie Adam backs striker for big move

Former Rangers star Charlie Adam insists Lyle Taylor would be a great signing for the club.

And he insists the Charlton striker is bound to have plenty of offers, believing that both Rangers and Celtic should go in for him.

Speculation around Taylor has heightened again after Charlton admitted that Taylor was worried about playing when the Championship returns in case injury rules him out of a move.

The former Partick Thistle striker has been a key player for the Addicks and scored 32 goals in 68 league games since 2018 for the London outfit.

Rangers signed Joe Aribo from the club last year in a move that angered Lee Bowyer and Adam reckons they should do the same again.

He told talkSPORT: “He’s a good player and it wouldn’t surprise me, just throwing it out there, if Rangers or Celtic try and take him because he’s out of contract.

“He’ll have a few options in the Championship too, and maybe a Premier League club would even take him because of his goalscoring record over the last few years.

“He’s in a good position, and that’s what his agent will be saying to him.”
