A countryside hotel has got the go ahead to build a spa in its grounds and erect glamping pods.
The newly-built spa in the grounds of Enterkine House Hotel near Annbank would boast a "leisure pool" as well as a sauna and steam room, gym and treatment area.
The new attractions could prove a draw for visitors with more people holidaying in Scotland instead of jetting abroad.
Three glamping pods have been granted restrospective planning permission for a lawned area at the hotel, in place of a former marquee.
And single-storey cabins take the form of “an interlinked octagonal and hexagonal timber structure” on a platform with a “hot tub”, according to a council document.
The spa is to be housed in a newly-constructed building with an open courtyard in the centre, according to designs submitted to South Ayrshire Council.
The council has granted planning permission for the developments. Officials made the decision.
Explaining its decision, the local authority said the location and design of the glamping pods and spa “is considered to accord with the provisions of the development plan and there is no significant adverse impact on the amenity of neighbouring land and buildings.”
A council document added: "It is understood that the hotel ownership and operator has recently changed, and the recent applications seek to provide additional and improved hospitality facilities."
