'Luxury' flat with bunk bed above the oven you could burn your bum on

Rents have undoubtedly gone up in recent months, and despite people wanting more for their money it's likely that they'll actually be getting a whole lot less, as is evidenced by a 'luxury' £500-per-month studio.

Prospective renters were horrified to see the flat advertised which had bunk bed ladders that backed onto the cooker - with some suggesting that the unlucky future tenant could 'burn their bum on the hob.'

The studio flat in Warrington, Cheshire, has been mocked online after a house hunter spotted the 'outrageous' layout on its Rightmove listing.

One of the images shows a bunk bed with ladders pressed to the side of a kitchenette - and there's a duel-ringed hob directly below it.

The raging viewer took to Twitter to bemoan the 'state of renting' by highlighting you could 'burn your a**e cheeks on the hob when you get out of bed'.

Since being contacted by reporters, 222 Estates, who are managing the property on behalf of the landlord, have replaced the image showing the layout has changed.

It appears a tenant is now able to cook from their bed instead as the controversial bunk and ladders have been removed and a double bed has been installed opposite the kitchenette.

An estate agent at 222 claims the room was reorganised when they began managing the property one year ago as they told the landlord it 'wasn't suitable'.

It's unclear why old images were used on the Rightmove listing which was added to the site on Saturday, April 8.

People responded to the tweet also expressing horror, with one saying: "I kind of want the challenge of cooking from the top bunk."

"I mean, I'm all for being able to make a brew from bed", another joked.

The property, inside a terraced house, appears to only contain the all-in-one kitchen and bedroom and a shower room.

It's available for a minimum tenancy of six months, must be secured with a £300 deposit, and claims to include 'all bills and wifi' in the £500 monthly rent.

A spokesperson for 222 Estates said: "When we took over management of it we changed it because it was not suitable. It was probably changed because there are ladders that look like they're going into a hob.

"We took it out before the last tenant moved in and just haven't changed the listing before this."
