A luxury home in Edinburgh, that could be mistaken for the Love Island villa, has gone on sale - and it’s our type on paper!

The Steel House, in the city's prestigious New Town,is on sale for almost £1million and is available for the first time in almost 20 years.

Just like the Love Island Villa, the property has a colourful landscaped garden and roof terrace.

The outside area is split into three distinct segments with ‘palm trees providing tropical style screening and privacy.’

Our head was turned when we saw the stunning stone terrace which is fitted with a cedar hot tub and its very own ‘recoupling’ area.

Both the property and the spectacular outdoor area are illuminated by vibrant LED designer lighting which accentuates a striking water feature.

Inside the property, there is an airy open plan kitchen, dining area and sitting room as well as three double bedrooms.

The unique home was designed by Zone Architects in 2002 and won a commendation for Best Domestic Project in the Scottish Design Awards as well as a Saltire Society Design Award in 2003.

Prestigious property developer Saville described the home saying: “The Steel House is a truly exceptional and unique contemporary home presented in immaculate order throughout.

“This distinctive property was constructed on an unusual site, contributing to the high urban quality of the city and an innovatively arranged family house with garden space and street frontage was created.

“The design approach was very much focused on the site, core spatial characteristics and distinctive external materials.

“The aim was to create as robust and coherent an architectural and urban presence as possible.

"The site was reimagined as a New Town walled garden, a potential setting for a lightweight 'pavilion-like' house, more appropriate to formal street frontage than the plain service buildings of the mews.

Property Agent Ben Box added: “It is an honour and a privilege to be entrusted with the sale of such an iconic and individual property.
