Luxury £31k Jaguar left melted after firebug attack drama outside Scots home

This is the aftermath of a firebug attack, which left a luxury motor melted in the driveway of a Scots home.

We told earlier how police had raced to the scene at Norman Rise, Livingston, around 1am amid reports the white Jaguar XF had been torched.

Fire crews descended on the scene and battled the blaze, which was luckily extinguished without causing any injuries.

The fire did not spread to nearby homes.

Cops are now going door to door in the town and checking CCTV but have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

Fresh pictures from the scene today show the charred paintwork of the £31,000 motor, with the white paint turned black with fire damage.

Big black marks cover the front right-hand side of the vehicle and up the bonnet, which is parked between two others.

They appear to have escaped any damage.

Detective Constable Emma Thacker, of Livingston CID, said:“I am appealing for anyone who was in the area and witnessed anything suspicious to come forward.

"We are currently reviewing CCTV and carrying out door to door enquiries in an effort to establish who was responsible.

"If anyone was driving in the area and may have captured footage on dash-cam that could help with our enquiries, please get in touch.

"Anyone with information should contact police via 101, quoting incident 0170 of 13 July 2021, or call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
