East Lothian to get four new four new luxurious glamping pods

Plans have been submitted which could see four glamping pods created in East Lothian.

Under the proposal, holiday accommodation and an office would be erected at a field in Tranent. The pods point towards Wallyford, and the Firth of Forth

Glamping has become a popular way to have a staycation in recent years and is used to describe a style of camping where you still have access to amenities.

The plans submitted to East Lothian Council would see single-storey pods that come with a kitchen, comfy area to sleep, living area and toilet facilities created at the site.

Developer Bridget Meena also hopes they can create a caravan at the site that would be used as an office for the venue.

A previous version of this article reported that the East Lothian Fa'side Castle plan to add four glamping pods to its grounds. This is incorrect. In fact, the proposed plans are near the site but nothing to do with the castle itself.
