Luxembourg to be without first-choice goalkeeper for Ireland clash

Luxembourg will be without their first-choice goalkeeper for their World Cup qualifier against the Republic of Ireland this weekend.

Anthony Moris (Union Saint-Gilloise) has tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss the match on Sunday, which comes three days after the Boys in Green face Portugal in Dublin.

Stephen Kenny's side suffered an embarrassing 1-0 loss at home to Luxembourg back in March and they'll be desperate to end their qualifying campaign on a high.

Luxembourg's second-choice keeper Ralph Schon (Wiltz 71) had asked to be left out of the squad as his wife is due to give birth soon, but he could now be called up.

Lucas Fox (Jeunesse Esch) and Tim Kips (Erzgebirge Aue) are the other two goalkeepers in the squad, but they are both uncapped at senior level.
