Luxbox Acquires International Sales Rights For 'Simon Of The Mountain'

Luxbox secures international sales rights for 'Simon of the Mountain' at Cannes.

Paris-based Luxbox, a sales company, has acquired international sales rights to the highly anticipated film 'Simon of the Mountain' ('Simon de la Montaña') ahead of the Cannes Film Festival. The film, directed by Argentina's Federico Luis, is set to compete in the main competition at this year's Cannes Critics' Week.

'Simon of the Mountain' tells the story of Simon, a 21-year-old lonely only son who finds companionship and belonging with a group of disabled children. The film explores themes of love, sex, and acceptance, challenging societal norms and redefining the rules of relationships and entertainment.

The movie stars Lorenzo 'Toto' Ferro, known for his acclaimed performances in 'El Angel' and 'El Marginal' Season 3. The cast also includes key figures such as Tomás Murphy and Agustín Toscano.

Produced by Argentina's 20/20 Films in collaboration with Chile's Planta Producciones and Uruguay's Mother Superior, 'Simon of the Mountain' is described as a thought-provoking exploration of identity and human connection.

Luxbox CEO Fiorella Moretti and Head of International Sales Jennyfer Gautier expressed their excitement about representing the film, praising its originality and the compelling journey of its characters. They highlighted the film's potential to make a significant impact on contemporary cinema.

Federico Luis, the director of 'Simon of the Mountain,' has a successful track record in the film industry, with previous works such as 'La Siesta,' 'Quedate Quieto o Te Amo,' and 'En el Mismísimo Momento' receiving critical acclaim at various international film festivals.

With its selection for the Cannes Critics' Week competition, 'Simon of the Mountain' is poised to captivate audiences and showcase the talent of emerging filmmaker Federico Luis. The collaboration between Luxbox and the film's production team reflects a shared commitment to promoting innovative and impactful cinema.
